1993 LT1 5.7L carburetor/distributor and other conversion.
I purchased a 1993 LT1 on a great deal it came with the proper GM bowtie intake manifold to install a carburetor and distributor, the guy I bought it from had the short block already assembled it has Eagle I beam 5.7L rods, pistons are speed pro H617CP std, heads are 10128374 with the piston and head combo I think it will be to much compression for street driving does anyone have idea of lowering compression possibly thicker head gasket? I'm also looking for a OEM roller style camshaft with good power (going in a 1956 chevy car) for the street and old school rump sound. With concern to the cooling system I know the LT1 water pump and heads are reverse flow any suggestions (electric pump??) I will be using a 1956 chevy car aluminum radiator. If you have additional questions please ask. Please advise on my questions or please direct me we're I can find information. Thank you in advance.

Yeah, I'm not sure about those domed pistons. Using this calculator and info from the thread links below, that puts the compression ratio around 13.6:1. I didn't spec the top ring down, so the CR will be a little lower. For the cam, I'm not sure what kind of a lope you are looking for.....almost sounds like you want something similar to a CC306. However, there might be better choices on the cam....so wait for other opinions. I'll also link my CC503 for a comparison. For the cooling....I'm not sure your radiator will cut it.
