SBC Heads/Intake on LT1 block?

Has anyone put SBC heads and Intake on an LT1 block? Would it be as simple as bolting the heads intake on along with a SBC water pump?

The heads have to be converted to reverse coolant flow configuration, and the water pump is unchanged.

Intake is easy...... Been there done that.

Heads, well they are a lot of work and take a good amount of time to do.

Unless you were going to a head that was better than a AFR 215 RR you should not even worry about that unless you have some very odd circumstances to work within.

Reverse cooling a Gen 1 SBC is a lot easier than converting SBC heads to fit an LT1 setup.

Call up West Coast Cylinder heads, that's who did his heads for him.

Oil returns on the ends of the heads had to be welded in, rear of the heads drilled and tapped for the crossover tube. Intake side of head welded and re-drilled for the LT1 intake, crossover water passages welded up. I cannot give an exact dollar amount on just the conversion, was all lumped together, port work, reverse flow conversion, valve job/spring setup. Ed95Pont also had a set of the same heads done, dont know who did his. But it's pretty spensive. But my Dad and I have a set of heads that will outflow a set of the biggest AFR has to offer The 227 requires an offset rocker/lifter setup, these do not. So it's all in what ya want to spend. Speed costs, how fast ya wanna go? We have less in these heads than a max effort 227 and what it would require to run them.
