I recently have been away from the forums for a long time due to some mishaps w/ a few friends of mine, but im back, my 1996 z28 has 195,000 miles on it and i still pull down 14 flat at 100 mph basic mods. should i replace it or go till it pukes, also has anyone heard anything good about dellteq, price?? Oh i forgot, i bought the car from my buddies dad, it was a buisness car he drove a real good amount on the highway, i dont k,now it that has anyting to do w/ it.

sounds like the car was taken care of...You could either upgrade to an LS1 or build up(383,355,top n bttm end rebuild) your LT1.

 

I've got 210,000 miles on my 97, with no mods it runs low 15's at 93mph with plugged cats. First mod will be cold air intake being installed tonight...then complete exhaust system next week. I say keep going! I am going to!

 

WOW that sucks man. That sounds like you need to do a compression test on that thing

 

Hmmm, if your cats are plugged, gut them or replace them. That might help a little before you do irreversable damage to your motor or start an engine fire. ********.

 

I've got about 190,000 miles and my best time is 14.08 @ 98 with my mods in my sig. It runs fine but is deff. down on power from my 1/4 times. It's geting rebuilt this spring in the quest for 12's.

Apparently you are, as I stated, the complete exhaust system is being replaced next week, I just purchased the car and ran it down the track a couple of times to see what was left of the motor at 210,000 miles, after the runs is when I found that the cats were bad, so the car was trailered back to the house and has been sitting since.

 

I ran 14.01 @ 100 bone stock, on bald 195 series pieces 'o crap tires, when she was at 'bout 140,000 miles. I say keep goin' until you notice problems...but soon as it goes **** up, replace with a new unit, don't rebuild the old...it'll save you lots of labor...(1st rebuild on my opti lasted a mere 5,000 miles)
