I run mine a little loose, so they tick on startup. If it goes away when warm I wouldn't worry about it. With 200k you will have other problems soon enough.

If you are running syn oil or anything lower than 10W40 you might get better results if you switch. JMHO

I am running some 0w 40 in thier for now to swish it around and wash it out. I was thinking that also and probably will change out to 10w 40 when I put new beaings in her.

For the cost of changing the lifters you could, or you could try adjusting those tired old lifters and screw something up by disturbing your tired old engine. If the tick goes away when she is warm and it still runs like a top, if it were mine I would just be careful with it especially until she warms up and run it nice. Hard to say without hearing the engine and seeing how it is. I guess it depends on what you want out of it.
