19 lb red top injectors?

So I bought a set of red tops off ebay a while back. Car ran like a dog, so I sent them out to be cleaned and flowed, etc... I know they were dirty

He calls me and says my red tops are 19 lb injectors. WTF???

I've never heard of red top 19 lb injectors.

Here are the injectors...

He says the color doesn't matter, but the part number. And the part number he says that's on there, IS in fact a 19 lb injector.

Now, I bought them off ebay and the guy said they were 30 lb's, I've always thought that all red top bosch injectors were 30 lb.

I've always thought that yellow tops are 19 lb's.

The guy called me twice about it. I'm not sure what the deal is.

I just told him to send them back to me and I'll figure out what I'll do with them at that time. He offered to make them 30 lb, but that's more money. I've already got over 200 in these with the cost of them, plus the cleaning.

Is it possible to swap the tops of my injectors over to a 19 lb injector?

Isnt stock injectors like 20 somthing pounds? Sounds like your going to have to modify those or buy different ones.

Yes, stock is 22 I think. The 19 lb injectors would be useless to me.

Well, he's saying the part number I sent him is 280-150-931.

However, there was no part number on the side of my injectors, if I remember correctly. And looking at my pics, I saw no part number on them.

Here is a pic of a 19 lb 280-150-931 (which is what he's claiming I sent him)

See the difference between the 280-150-931 injector, and the injectors above that I sent him? The 280-150-931 is half the size of what I sent him.

I am afraid he may be sending me a 19 lb injector and keeping my 30 lb's to sell or something.

Yeah, I think I got ripped. I don't think there is really anything I can do about it either.

He just kept my 30 lb's to sell for 300, and he's sending me some dime a dozen $5/piece 19 lb garbage. Maybe he swapped my red tops back on them.

They've already been sent back to me, too.

I'm so pissed right now.

Dead give away was that he called me for no reason, just to say "Hey, uhhh, we got your injectors here. They're ready to go. You musta had a leak huh?"

I said "I dunno, the car just didn't run good."

So he says "Yeah, they were pretty bad, but we got them taken care of. 19 lb's right?"

"No, I sent you 30 lb injectors."

"No, these are only 19 lb injectors. I got the flow numbers right here. The machine doesn't lie, you'll get a copy of the report."

So we go back and forth for a few minutes. I keep saying I've never seen a 19 lb red top. He counters with, it doesn't matter what color it is, this is the part # on your injector, and it's a 19 lb part number.

Here is the auction I used.

The worst part is, I can't prove anything, and there's really nothing I can do.

I'll let you guys know what the injectors look like when I get them back.

The base of the injectors are deffinatly differant between the pictures. Send this guy the injectors back along with a copy of the first picture and tell him that you expect him to make it right. If he doesn't then you can take it up with E-Bay and sue him in small claims for the cost of the injectors. If you paid with pay-pal make a complaint with them and if credit card then call the bank.

sure enough, the injectors were 19 lb's, the guy wasn't blowing smoke.

He did an awesome job, too, btw.

I would recommend these guys. Took them 2 days to get my injectors back, flowed with charts and everything.

There was some gray over-spray on my injectors when I sent them in. Sure enough, the spray was still on the tops, and the part # is a 19lb part number.
