Arrow 17" wheels and drag radials on 16s in the back?

I was thinking of getting some 275/40/17 drag radials for my C5 wheels but then I thought that since I already have a set of 4 salad shooters, I might just use those for the track only. Anyone else here doing the same?

I know it would be nice to have them on 17s but 1 - they're more expensive, 2 - they have a lower profile and 3 - I don't race on streets (or at least try very hard not to ) so I really don't care for traction there. So should I go with some 255s for my salad shooters or should I get the 17 ones?
Thanks!

I'm running 275/40/17 on 17" WS6 wheels up front with 16" 5 spoke stock wheels with Nittos 245/50/16s on the back. I really need to get some skinnies up front.

I have the 275/40/17 drag radials on mine. I run them all the time. I used to use them at the track but they sucked at the track. I think due to the smaller side wall. I have a set of salad shooters i use for the track. Other than that i would run the drag radials just for street use(17's). Depends on ur mods i guess.

This will be for my 93. It's an A4 with a 2400 stall and will have a 233/239 cam this weekend. (looking for 350 RWHP)
On street tires the best 60' I could do with the 2400 stall was 1.95. (almost stock otherwise)

Thats a decent 60 with street tires. If i were you especially once u get a cam go with the et streets. I have done countless post and research to go with either et streets or bfg drag radials. I was afraid et streets would be too much for my car. But they all say no. So i would get a set of those and then you would not have to worry at all about traction! Good luck!

ET Streets it is then.

Are you running the 26X10.5X16 ones?
How do you heat them up with your A4? Line lock or power braking?

Do they fit fine underneath the fenderwells or did you have to do some clearancing?

yup those are the ones. I havent used them at the track yet, but they fit underneath there no problem. I will be power breaking. You should be alright with power braking.

im gonna throw some nittos on a set of 16" rims. the tires are cheaper and the walls arent so stiff so you hook much better.
