i have a 160 stat in currently with no programming and it is ok, if i just sit and idle for a while the temp will still go to 210 ( i think that is the temp ) before the fans kick on but if you are moving the car will stay at 160

you DO NOT ...repeat DO NOT need reprograming to reep the benefits of a 160 stat.

when moving your car will stay cool enough to get the added power but it won't even come close to the fans turning on.

the only time tuning will affect how a 160 stat works is in traffic..mostly sitting still...or in the staging lanes...this case it is easier just to have a fan switch

Slp sent me the hypertech one. It took 3-5 days and 27 bucks all together.
