For some reason in my car, lately my oil pressure gauge has been going off the scales upwards, not just high but as far as the needle will move, then my check gauges light comes on. Is this a bad sensor or somethign? what would cause this, sometimes it just goes up for a min or two then comes down. Sometimes its there for the whole time im driving.

That would be my .02 worth of knowledge. Your sensor is on the way out. Actually, theres almost no doubt in my mind that is the culprit. either that or you have one heck of an oil pump

The gauge will also read pegged when the connector is off/wire open.
