14.887@95.25 Analyze my slip.

OK, went to the track here in tucson last nite, elevation is 3100 ft probably about 80* with low humidity. Csr is a bone stock 6 speed with 17x9.5 ZR1 replacas and 275/40/17 kumho tires.

Best run was a

60'.................2.304
330................6.342
1/8.................9.637@74.89
1000..............12.452
1/4.................14.887@95.25

Analyze this for me and tell me whats up. Obviously my 60'ft times are horrible, but other than that how does it look. There was another i think mostly stock LT1 Z28 Auto running a 14.9's.

Is 95 mph fast for a 14.8 almost 14.9?

ZO6 there was running 13.70's and there were 2 03 cobras running mid 14's. Also saw a C5 auto vette rip off a 15.0

Your 60's, which you are aware, along with the altitude and temperature are your primary cuplrits. Not a terrible run...you just need practice.

A Mustang buddy of mine told me that taking off a tenth in your 60 ft time will drop your 1/4 by .2, is there any truth to that?

Well, I think the more accurate depiction would be a tenth on the 60' would equal about .15 at the end. Just from what I've seen personally.

If you use the NHRA altitude correction factors for 3,100-ft, that works out to:

14.33 @ 99.0 mph at sea level.

Not bad for a bone stock setup. I would agree .10 on the 60-ft time is more like 0.15 at the 1/4-mile. So, just getting your 60-fts to 2.0 would put you at the equivalent of 13.9 at sea level.

Don't blame your man, maybe just yourself. Try and go to a test and tune once where you can make several runs in one day, practice, practice...

The street legal events here at our local track only get us about 3 runs and that's just not enough fun!!
