1371, less then a 1,000 miles

Alright so about a month or two ago I got the 1371 code and my car wouldn't start, 1371 means low res from opti = no start

I replaced the opti, and well last night I was beating the **** out of my car and it died, I was able to get it to start and then I bought gas since I was low, driving out of the gas station died again, pulled over, fideled around with the maf(i had just replaced the coil so I though maybe I didn't tighten the hoses, well I got it to start, got it home with a ses light, went out to it this morning no start, got it to fire up, went to the zone and pulled another damn 1371 code. WTF!!!!

Also, I had been driving earlier(before it died), no misfires up top(been happening alot, replaced the coil and everything was golden) now it does it again!

I don't know what to do, I really really love the car, but this is ridiculous, another opti dead(or on its way out) in less then a 1000 miles?

I used an AC delco from the dealer, now I hear the most common causes of low/high res failures is the wiring? So should I buy another new harness and replace the opti(with a ****ing warranty replacement)

Please help, whats causing my opti to fail?

Verify that the opti harness is in good shape.

Can be a problem with the wiring harness - check for corrosion and damaged pins on both connectors (at the Opti and the gray connector on the passenger side of the intake manifold). I don't know that's the "most common cause" but it is a possibility. I'd check the harness before shelling out $200+ for a new Opti.

Are there any mods to your car that might be contributing to the Opti problems... e.g. cam change with incorrect dowel pin length?

PS: Please don't test the language filter.

Shoebox has a great site, including a section on verifying the opti signals:

No mods done to my car. Just a CAI/Catback

When I changed the last opti I looked at the harness on both ends, and it looked fine, no corriosion or damage or dirt or anything, it looked fine.

I think I might have gotten a bad one? I am gonna try and see if I can get one replaced under a warranty that the part is defective?

Thanks for that link.

And sorry for the bad language, it slipped, just alittle upset my car was able to run good for about 20 miles after changing the coil and then something else goes wrong.
