I installed a hotcam at 130k miles and now have almost 150k with no problems. I've always ran mobil 1. When I had the engine apart it looked like new inside.

do you ahve any information about the incident? what was it that actually caused the spun bearing? any diagnosis, or was it simply the cam?

It being the "cam" or something that happened from the cam install would be the same thing.

I'd love to install mine but it has 146,000 miles. But the oil pressure at idle when warm is slightly above 20....I think?? Car hasnt been cranked in a couple of weeks.

118 on the car when i did the swap, 11k later and MANY a 6.5k + pulls and still going strong.

I only drive my car to beat on it anymore, so it sees a lot of abuse.

I say do it

People spin bearings because they rev way passed 5800 or 6k... my car will never see 6500.

Get a higher LSA cam and just call it a day. I'm at 116k almost and just replaced every damn thing in my valvetrain.

XE 227/233 Cam
Hardened Pushrods
Valve Springs
Comp R Lifters
Comp 1.6rr
Valve Seals and Gaskets
Timing Chain and Gear

I think thats it?

i got 11500 on my ta and the engine is torn down to the short block. Well lets just say that the front cam bearing is TERRIBLE and all the cam bearings are gona get replaced. Im installing the cc 230/236 so i want to rev it to 6300 and dont want cam bearings going.

If you tore the block down to the shortblock and replaced the cam bearings....how would that increase your chances of not spinning a bearing? Or do you think you still might spin a main bearing??
