12.64 @ 111.88 with the LE2 today.

Im really happy with the time, but before someone starts bashing on the LE2 setup and my times, read the whole post.

I was in Kentucky for the Fbody Invasion 2 weeks ago. On the way home my car started miss firing up top. I thought it was the opti so I replaced it. It helped it a little initially, but then it came back to how it used to be. Being almost the last weekend to go racing, I said the hell with it and decided to go anyways.

This time slip I got on my last run of the day before I broke the rear end. I was hot lapping it the whole time; made a run and went right back into the staging lines and never turned the engine off, temp stayed at about 165 degrees the whole time.

I was only getting faster throughout the day, and this was my first time at the track in over 14 months, and as you all know, practice makes perfect.

Now that the rear end is done, Im thinking about putting in a spool just so I dont have to worry about the rear end, and making it out to the track one more time this year with a better time slip.

I am not bashing LE or his products, i personally plan to run them in the future, but i would be dissapointed with your times. Wether there is something wrong with the car, clutch slipping, tires spinning, or driver skill. A mid twelve can be achieved with full boltons, suspension and sticky tires. I will be dissapointed if i only run your best slip with 400rwhp. Just my opinions, but who am i?

EDIT: I noticed your short times arent the best, but did get better. Im going to take a wild guess and assume that your not running nitto radials?

Re: 12.64 @ 111.88 with the LE2 today.

This was my first time at the track this year. Im not overly thrilled with the times either, so dont think Im jumping for joy here.

Im running Nittos that are down to the wear indicators, but still hooked for the most part. I think that with a 9" as opposed to the 10 bolt I just grenaded, Ill be able to dump the clutch at a much higher rpm.

Just food for thought though... my friend has the same exact setup as I do. His and my LE2 were ordered a week apart, and were installed at the same time, by the same person. He has a 9", I have the stock one. We were running everything the same, down to the tire and suspension. With my misfire, I ran the same exact time as he did. I have not yet seen his time slip, but once I do I will post it so you guys can compare it.

As I mentioned earlier, I would like to install a spool just so I can go back to the track next week without worrying the rear end taking another vacation on me. I would've loved to see a 12.2 or a 12.1 time slip, or even better yet a 11 second run, but that will come when the 60' times are brought down even further.

What should I do next in terms of setup wise to get into the 11's?

I think that if Im not in the 11's next year in the spring, Im selling this thing and buying a vette.

Re: 12.64 @ 111.88 with the LE2 today.

Are you an A4 or M6? What does your suspension consist of? Did you run with the "miss" and have you figured it out yet? Rear gear ratio? What tires did you run at the track? I know these are lots of questions, but they are instrumental in your track times..

And don't get a spool if you are going to run it on the street. They are very hard to control in the wet and the results can be catastrophic...At your power level I'd look into an aftermarket rear...

Your car is way down on power, if its still missing get that fixed. And do you have a dyno tune? If you don't get one. You should be trapping 117+.

I don't think he is way down on power. Those times are very respectable. Granted, a better 60' would help out a lot, but he already broke the rear getting those #'s. I see people post all the time about how fast their car is, but I don't ever see people actually getting the times they claim when I'm at the track watching.

he is claiming 400RW i would expect atleast 115 traps. i know weather plays a big roll, but 111 is not 400RW traps.
like he said the car is missing. other then that, maybe his shifting wasnt optimal.
but yes, 111 trap would have me concerned.

Yea, get the new rear end in there and get some new Mickey Thompson ET Streets, Practice comming out MUCH MUCH harder, and try and get your 60ft times down into the 1.60-1.70 range.......this should give you a really low 12 second run , mabe even crack a high 11......your MPH is also down a little(about 5mph or so), but this could be your tuning, Have Lloyd do the intake(if its not already) ....make sure you have ALL the supporting mods needed....ECT.. .....good luck.......Joe

Re: 12.64 @ 111.88 with the LE2 today.

Im coming at about 3000rpms in respect for the 10 bolt. First time on Nittos today, 315/35/17 mounted on my TTII's.

Car is a 6 speed. Has 4.10 gears.

Suspension- BMR adjustable torque arm, LCA's and brackets. Its lowered about 1.3" with the Eibach springs and Im on stock shocks.

The car has been dyno tuned by Dan at FLP in Naperville IL. Im not 'claiming' 400rwhp, but rather thats what the car put down to the wheels.

The missfire issue has not yet been resolved. It misses pretty bad 5000 or so through my 6300 rpm shift point. I guess I cant really do anything at this point about the misfire since I dont have a rear end. I'd love to put a spool in there, have the misfire figured out, and then take it to the track. The car is definatly not running 100%.

I have all the supporting mods as suggested by Lloyd, and the intake was also done over by him.

The gas pedal was not on the floor in between shifts. I think Ill have my rev limiter set to 6300 and not lift off the gas pedal on the next runs.

I know I need to get rid of those Eibach springs for the trach. How about the Koni springs all the way around, or the QA1's? I have not researched them too much as of yet.

Get that miss fixed, 111 traps are showing you are way down on power. When I was full weight and had 322rwhp, and I also had a slipping tranny that would hit the limiter before it shifted I was trapping 111mph, so once you get the miss fixed out your mph will shoot up and your E.T. will drop quite a bit.

Yeah I know. I just have to practice as well. First time at the track in over a year.

I replaced the opti, so I know thats not it. Plugs? Wires? Fuel system?

The miss probably has a good bit to do with the missing MPH, but i am thinking that you may need to shift at a higher RPM as well. Good luck.

Re: 12.64 @ 111.88 with the LE2 today.

I would change plugs and wires and then see what it does. Change fuel filter just to be safe since they are cheep and easy to change.

If the prob is still there, scan it and see what the O2's are seeing. Check fuel pressure at high RPM and make sure the pump is keeping up.

The car was getting faster but you also had alot of room for improvement and you still have alot of room for improvement.

Fix the miss and then you can practice your driving skills. Get the car to launch well and shift higher as well. Most factory tachs are off by 200-400 RPM and if you are shifting at 6300 RPM on the tach, it could actually be 6100or 5900 RPM. Either way, there is ALOT more ET gains in it with a higher shift RPM. You obviously will not see these gains until the miss is fixed but once it is all sorted out, there are some gains here.

Re: 12.64 @ 111.88 with the LE2 today.

Thanks Lloyd. I just hope its not one of those mysterious misses that cant be found.

I was shifting with the tach at 6800-6900 on the best run through every gear. My tach is 500rpms off at high rpms, so when the tach is showing 6800 it is really 6300.

I was looking at a few time slips from my other friends that were out there yesterday, with a 1.5 60' they were running an 11.8 @ 111mph.

I think once I get the miss figured out, change the plugs/wires, fuel filter, Im sure Ill see a low 12 second run. Im afraid that wont be until next year.
