10's w/Ai 355. Pump gas VIDEO

Hi all. It's been a long time since I have had the car on the race track. The last time out I was plagued by electronic issues, and poor tuning. I made good peak numbers, but the car didn’t drive very well. Initially I thought it drove okay, but compared to what it's like with a proper tune it's a completely different car. It starts easy, idles steady, and gets better mileage. It always ran strong at WOT, but I have fixed the part throttle tuning across the board. Finally, it drives normally. Last week I had and opportunity to head down to Ai & tune up (break-in and testing) a couple of engines for Karl Ellwein as well as Rick Abare's 383 on the dyno. The weather in North Carolina was in low 70's with clear skies, so the guys convinced me to bring the car down and try running it again. Those of you who are familiar with my car will remember that the last couple of times I tried to run the car I destroyed several 12 bolt gear sets, and a drive shaft. In the end everything turned out pretty well, and I had a really good time. I made a bunch of passes, the car went decently fast, and I didn't break anything.

Here is a quick video of some dyno and track action. Sorry for the shaky video, we had sustained 20-22 MPH headwinds with 30 MPH gusts.

There is some tweaking I need to do in regard to the gear ratio, and tire combination. I should be able to get it quicker with better conditions, and the before mentioned changes.

Nice times. Are you still running the a factory PCM and a optispark? I have fixed a few bugs in my setup and I am hoping to join the the N/a 10second club this month too. Later

Congrats on the new bests. That NA 10sec club is pretty small for the LT1s.

What were the break downs on some of your runs? That car seems to pull like a monster on the back half. How were the 60ft times? That silver car was launching nicely.

Nice runs. Can you give us a break down on the car...gears, weight, etc. Not many 6 speeds NA in the 10s at all...even fewer of us 355s.

Very nice man. I've seen alot of success w/ cars similar to your setup. Can't go wrong with the AI 200cc heads, and what's your SR cam specs? Just curious...

Impressive runs. It looks like it has alot left in it with some more tweaking and better conditions. It did look like it was bogging pretty hard on the launch too.
