Im approching the 100,000 mile mark in my LT1. I've taken great care of the car is whole life and im wondering what things us LT1 owners should look out for when the car gets this many miles on it. Aside from the opti what other parts should need to be checked up on at this age to ensure you don't have any problems.

 

Just keep doing the basic maintenance, plugs/wires, fluid changes, ect. and get another 100K out of it.

 

fuel pump, fuel filter, 02's ^^ and evrything listed above

 

Should I just go ahead and change the pump one weekend I have free?

 

you dont have to..change the fuel filter though, which is very easy..i never run my tank below 1/4 tank because it's more wear on the fuel pump..but im sure you need one in the future as you's fails..mine is stock pump @ 139K..

 

also when you hit 100k dont forget to do it at 100mph

 

Yea but when it fails, its game over...im going to be taking a long road trip this summer and just wanna kinda get all the important stuff outa the way so im not stranded

 

I'd look the suspension over, loose ball joints, cracks in the dust covers, worn bushings, worn jag joint, worn shocks, etc.

 

hey does anyone know where the how-to is for cutting out behind the seat to get your fuel pump out without dropping the tank?
