10.847 @ 126.08 staight off the trailer first pass of the year

10.847 @ 126.08 staight off the trailer N/A. 60' was 1.598, all I can say is this is a dog with the tight converter. This was runnning pig rich never messed with the timing dropped 5 jet sizes in both sides of the carb and went 127.37 next pass with aworse 60' (1.895).

Tried hitting it with a 100shot lifted before the 1/8 and went 10.97 @ 100.32mph. Damn hood pin came out and one side of the hood lifted. That could have been worse.

I think after the timing is dialed in and I get the suspension to work it will go mid 10's on the motor. This is with a converter that only goes to 3500 wide open on the brake, glide and 3.89 gears(nitrous combo).

Next time out I'm going to work on tuning the N/a combo a little and see what I can get out of it. I think I'm going to have to hit it with 250 just to get it moving.

I almost need your car just in case the motor is sitting a little different. I used motor plates and moved it around a little for the headers. It's not that hard to make.

I'm just finishing up mine now, but I like a few things about yours, I guess version 1.2 will have this.

Whats wrong with that? I have nothing agaist the opti or fuel injection but this motor will be going to 8000rpm's when I feel good with the tune. I was shifting at 7500 last night. Are you willing to do that with the stock ecm? After spending what I spent this year the carb was a cheaper way to go.

I don't think he's challenging you.... no need to over-react. He just wants to know more about the car/engine, as we all do. You haven't provided much.

Says you went 1.35 60ft with the 100hit...That's getting out of the hole for sure! I have a similar combo..396/glide/heavy/nitrous...It'll scream when you get it dialed in, have fun!

The short block was built by LME. They say it will take up to a 400shot. The heads I picked up on here for $500. Had a couple seats and valves replaced and they receaved a set of manley 221442-16 springs. The cam was spec by cam motions and Brian at LME which was intended for nitrous use. I'm running 1 7/8 primary headers, a Brodix hvh intake with a 1050 dominator.

If you want to know anything else just let me know.

Awesome run. You def have a low to mid 10 Na.

What headers do you have and where did you get them? Also I see they are a stahl flange. What did you have to do to have your heads adapted for a stahl flange? BTw, what heads are you running?
I am building a similar 383 right now and trying to decide if the hooker 1 3/4's are enough or if I should step up to the 1 7/8's.

Thanks for any info!

There was some info in the sig so I didn't retype it. But the heads are brodix -10's. Their converted sbc heads. I think this winter I may replace them with a set of Brodix track 1 heads. But anyways the heads have the brodix spreadport exhasust flange. Hedman Hedders has the headers listed in their race or hustler header catolog. I had to have the number 1 tube redone because I coundn't get the plug in that cylinder and I have to run autolite plugs because they are shorter then the NGK's from the seat to the wire terminal end. I was going to have some custom 2" headers made for the car but these were cheaper

My exhaust ports measure 1 7/8 across the opening so this was the smallest ones I would consider. What type of power are you looking to make?

Thanks for the reply/info!

The 383 I am building is 11.8-1 comp, diamond nitrous pistons, Lunati pro mod rods, Eagle forged crank, 4 bolt splayed caps, solid roller Joe O grind 258 268 .635 lift with 1.6's 106lsa, endura x lifters, Eric Bradby ported AFR 220 heads (flow well over 300cfm), T&D shaft mount rockers, Accel single plane intake, with a 1200cfm tb (carb style). I hope to make 600 N/A at the crank and ~850-900 crank on a 250 hit. My goals are to go at least 1 sec faster than my previous combo N/A and on the bottle.

thanks again,

Matt
