Not to jack the thread but i know the balencer will go on the hub only one way. Where would the alignment marks be on the crank hub? What would happen if it was put on the wrong way?

There is a cast line on the hub that is in the same location as the arrow on the pulley. Normally, it won't matter which way it goes on for balance purposes, unless the pulley has weights in any of the holes in it's perimeter. Though, it is nice to index the hub correctly, so that you can tell what positon the crank is in (like when adjusting valves).

Got it Off!

I pretty much mumbled through and got it off using a regular puller and the bolt that was suppose to go in the crank. The bolt is a little short when it was almost off, so i used a much smaller bolt (so as not to worry about the threads) long enough to hit the back of the threaded hole and put the puller back on it. It came off in the end, which is all that matters i guess. Now i kepe thinking how the H*** am i going to get it back on? The bolt is just a tad too short to pull it back on, and I'm worried about the threads when i do that. Is there an installation tool? I looked in several hardware stores and could not find anything with that thread. I matched it to M12x1.5 is this correct?

This brings up another question, how much difference would an aftermarket balancer/hub set up really make? It will be stock with a slightly bigger cam, stock heads (unless someone has a set of aftermarket heads for a good deal).

No, no, the bolt is 7/16-20 thread. Don't use a bolt to pull it on, unless you want to risk damaging threads. You can use a high grade threaded rod, nut and washers (preferably a thrust washer) to pull it on. People have posted pics of home-made tools on here.
There is a removal/installation tool made by Kent-Moore, but they are not cheap and won't be found at any local store.
