it sounds to me that the plug isnt firing, you said that it looks fouled and that when you grounded the plug to check it didnt look like it was firing. i suggest you pull the whole wire and look it over, might have chafed somehwere and be grounding out, or you can try to have someone start the car while its dark and look under the hood for arching (had this problem in my '93, turnedout that the plug wire had burnt on the manifold) just anohter thing to try before you pull the fuel rails.

Fullagar, im not sure what u r talking about, but anyways...

#1 looks fouled right? Well i looked at #5 plug and it looked 10x better! I then did a spark test using the fouled plug using the #1 wire on the opti and it got good spark...

So i took off the fuel rail and took a look at the injector, it didnt look extremely dirty, dunno if its stuck open? stuck closed?

Autzone sells them for $70/each (ouch! )

Guess i'll buy an injector

Have you run a compression test? I know it was asked earlier but I never saw an answer.

No i have not, because..

A. do not have a compression gauge
B. really, really, REALLY do not want to take out all the plugs

You can do a compression test on just that one cylinder...since that one is the only one that is missing.

why don't you try swapping parts (injectors, plugs, wires) one at a time from one cyl to the next and see if the misfire changes cyl's. as soon as you move whatever is causing the problem to another cyl the miss should move with it.

It most likely is opti or the injector.

You said you tested the spark from the #1 wire correct and it was good? Well then i'd go to the injector next.

Why not swap injectors and test it real quick. Swap say 1 and 7 and see if the problem follows the injector....
