1.7 RR's and CC 306 cam

Just a quick question. I have a 306 cam and Crane 10308 (I think that's the right p/n) springs. I have been thinking about replacing my 1.6's for the 1.7's but I don't know if this is a stupid idea or even if the springs will handle the extra lift. Any ideas?

1. Higher ratio RR's kinda act like a bigger lift cam to open the valve more, so I'd watch it with a big cam, your risking slapping the top of the piston with a valve...just a lil 411, do you have a good tune for it?

Going to hit .612 on the exhaust side if that helps anyone answer the spring part.

Do you have reason to believe that with your heads it is worth lifting the valves that far. I do not know flow specs on those heads but do know many many times people are far too eager to just throw lift at things without looking at wether it is worthwhile first.

I'm sure AFRs flow to .650 at least. Consider the extra valvetrain wear it'll cause, and you'll need a new set of pushrods of a different length.

I am running Harland Sharp 1.65 RR's. Just another option. They fit under the stock covers without cutting them and are only about $210.
