Which 1.6RR kit to get

I have a gift certificate from a shop to do 1.6RRs on my car. I was wondering what was the best kind to pick up and how much do they cost??

Gift certificate based on what? If it is a discount on labor, you'd better get a quote---in writing---on the labor, since changing RRs requires spring changing, possible install of quidge plates, if non-self aligning, plus you will need hardended push rods with the non-SAs. And then you need to have them adjusted and the geomtry checked for correct rod length.

Bottom line: a 50% discount on labor (you furnish parts) when the estimated labor is excessive is equal to 0 discount if the cost is twice as much as some other shop might charge. JMHO

They have the price for doing RR's on their website and my gift certificate covers it.

Be very careful of the labor and little stuff they might try to tack on. Anyway, I'm running SA Comp Pro Mags. Good rocker, not the lightest, but good. They will have to trim the valve covers for them to fit so make sure they know that so they don't tack it on. Also I ran SA rockers cause it was an easier install and also SA rockers have a little better spring control at higher RPM.

Ok---just wanted to make sure that you are aware of what they intend to do when they do "RRs"---do they itemize what they include in the RR change.

Why? Because if all they plan to do is remove the valve covers, and swap out the stockers with RRs and do a ball park preset and call it good....

Crane gold NSA seem to be trusted on this site pretty well. I'm just using Summit brand myself.... I've used all sorts man.... I've never had a problem with any of them.

crane pro magnums here. they have SA and NSA available and in 3/8 and 7/16 available. if you go with the NSA get the 7/16 studs with guideplates and pushrods.

Could someone list everything I would need to purchase, maybe a link even. I'm not sure what all I would need.

97transam.com/97ta-cam.php

Note: I didn't mentioned on the webpage that we got the guide plates from a local dealership and they were cheaper than anywhere else, $36. The guide plates were needed when we had to go to the non-SA rockers.
