1.6RR intake w/ 1.5RR exhaust??? Anybody done it?

So who's done this? I was talking to a guy who can kick his way around a motor pretty decently, and he said an old trick used to be running 1.6 RR's on the intake side with 1.5RR's on the exhaust side. To reduce scavenging and what not. Anybody heard/done this? I'm not sure why you wouldn't just grind it into your cam that way, but still...

I've heard of the L98 guys doing this swap. But, for the LT1 you're better off using 1.6 rockers on the intake and exhaust.

Why would you want to reduce scavenging? That helps the top end. It's probably an old school trick because it works on old school motors. For this motor just get the 1.6 for both.

Just the opposite: 1.5 I, 1.6 E. The restriction on the LT1 is the exhaust, not the intake. However, might as well go bigger on I and E, if you are going with RRs.JMHO

Ah ok thanks guys... I wasn't sure if I was going to do it or not, but I've already got some crane 1.6's on the way

Make sure you change the springs and all of the stock hardware with those rockers.
