Hey guys I was wondering. Just finished my motor and I heard someone say that you needed to do some clearing in the stock valve covers for the 1.6 rockers. I didn't do any of that and I'm kind of paranoid about metal shaving off in there.

Its the 1.6's that came with the Hotcam kit.

Clearance should not be a problem but the noise might drive you crazy. I opted to get Corvette composite valve covers to muffle the noise.

 

You won't have any clearance issues with the 1.6's that were in the HOT CAM kit. There is some noise from them, and I too am going to switch over to the Composite Valve Covers.

 

Yeah....I've been looking at them but with all the money I spent recently (look below). I think I'll have to wait a lil til I catch up.

 

I used this set for a while with no clearance problems as well.

 

I have no problems at all, but i'm using 1.6 rr comp cam.
