Thumbs up 1.6 RR/LT4 KM Dyno Results

Those of you who are considering 1.6 roller rockers as an alternative to a cam swap may be interested to learn that my car picked up 25 RWHP and 22 ft.-lbs. RWTQ with a set of Self-Aligning Comp Cams Pro Magnums and an LT4 KM. Although some of the increase is no doubt ascribable to the deletion of some pre-existing false knock, I thought this was a nice gain for around $300 in parts.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the LT4KM?

That's good news indeed. I've had a set of Crane Gold race rockers along w/hardened pushrods sitting in my shed now for about 8 months. Anything else I need to install these on my '95Z(safely)?

thanks!

LT4KM=LT4 knock module

it's a less sensitive knock module than the stock LT1

What else did you replace? just the rockers? Nothing else like pushrods or vave springs? What kind of differences are you feeling? Reving quicker? More top end power? Does the engine sound any different? Valvetrain noise?

Since my car has a 4L60 and only 30,000 miles, I didn't think it necessary to upgrade the valve springs. Hardened pushrods were not necessary either, as the rockers are self-aligning and therefore did not require guide plates.
Although I haven't had a chance to make any quarter-mile passes yet, the car does seem to pull a bit harder in the mid-to-upper-rpm range.
Aside from a very slight increase in valvetrain noise, drivability has been unaffected. Overall, a very nice mod--especially for the price.

personally I loved mine.. I would only do it with hardened pushrods, springs, guideplates and only 7/16ths studs with pro magnums.. do it right and do it once..

seen the cranes break..

car will rev more freely and will make more HP than most people think.. Oftem people say only 15hp for this mod.. but I have seem many get in the upper 20's to low 30's.. Remember you have to adjust them properly.. get it right.. and you will be happy.. guideplates = more security at higher rpm and less noise.

Those gains are amazing, most people that go to 1.6rrs only pick up 7-10rwhp. You probably had some knock that the lt4km helped you out with, none the less I'd be proud of those gain. Also DEFIENTLY change your spring with 1.6rrs your maxing them out and your gonna get float after a little while of use.
