Just trying to swap to 1.6 RR's i'm using a set im getting off of a friend for $120 - they're crane non-self aligning along with the crane 40-10308-1 valve spring kit (springs, retainers, locks), comp guideplates and comp 3/8" studs.

Question - could i use factory style OE (autozone) lifters with stock pushrods? or would i have to upgrade pushrods and lifters also?

need some suggestions ... trying to do this as inexpensively as i can

You can use the stock roller lifters, but you need to upgrade to hardened pushrods for use with the guide plates.

 

think i'd be OK with my stocker 107k mile roller lifters?

If you haven't removed the lifters, then don't worry about it. If you did, check them really well and make sure the rollers aren't pitted and have no play, and that they operate smoothly. Make sure you put them back into the holes they came out of. And don't forget to use plenty of oil/lube.
