I just installed 1.6 roller rockers and now my new valve covers wont clear. I'm set on using both of these,but I need to make it work. can I double gasket the valve covers or is there some kind of kit for this? I need to clear by about 1/4." I thought about gluing 3 valve cover gaskets together and smearing rtv all through the seams to make one thick gasket.

 

Are the rockers hitting the "supports" that bridge underneath the valve covers? If so take a pair of pliers and try bending/breaking the interfering metal. If theyre hitting the roofs of your valve covers you may be in trouble...

If you search around you may be able to find some valve cover spacers. I know they make them for LS1s and standard valve cover small blocks. Someone ought to make a centerbolt vavle cover set.

Those don't look like stock valve covers. You may have to get some different ones.

 

yeah those definately arent stock valve covers..I just put in 1.6r pro mags with guideplates and mine fit in there perfectly..after i did the cover mod. Those do look like a nice set of valve covers though.

 

Did you relocate your ASR module or is it just out of the way while your working? I hate having to unbolt it everytime I have to take the covers off.

 

i took the bracket off and left it off..only thing that scares me. is i cut one of the throttle cables(the one that connects to the white plastic part of the motor. No clue what it was for cus my TCS still works..so i cut something that i shouldnt of. Does anyone know if theres a way i can completely delete it? I want that ugly thing out of the engine compartment.

 

nah it's just out of the way, but I will be reloacting it soon because of the stb.

 

I think it controls the cruise control too, does that work on your car?
