1.5 or 1.6 RR's

I want to put some roller rockers on my 96 SS. I realize that i get more lift from the 1.6 ratio, but i would have to replace my springs, which would be a lot more work. How much more HP is created from the 1.6 over the 1.5?

Is there any way to replace springs without removing the heads?

Thanks,
Greg

1.5s aren't worth the effort unless you already have a high lift cam in there.

Definately 1.6s with the valve springs.

what horsepower gain would you get w/ 1.6RRs and the springs and stuff to go with them? pretty much a hot cam kit without the cam. that way I could just stick a cam in there in the future

Some people have seen 22hp at 6100rpm with 1.6 rockers and springs.

i could believe a 22 hp gain since you are opening the valves quite a bit farther.
