Exclamation 1/4 Mile with 383

I have not had my car dynoed yet, but does anyone have any ideas of what quarter mile times I might expect,

Motor: 383 Fully ported lt1 heads 2.00/1.55 port matched to intake, 52mm Tb, 10.8:1, CC305 full roller CC valvetrain with 1.52 rr, scat 9000 crank, sealed power hyper pistons with coated skirts, 5.7 PM rods, M6, 3.42 gears

Any ideas on quarter mile or power output would be greatly appreciated

Just an FYI that might be kinda hard to guess at. Without any hp/tq #'s it's a stab in the dark. Most guys on here can guess at a fairly stock setup because all our cars pretty much run similar. But when you start getting into stroking anything can happen. I've heard at 383's run like crap and do horrible, and at the same time 383's that run like a raped ape. You'll probably need to provide a little more info to get someone to make an educated guess. Hopefully someone with the same setup as you will see this and be able to give you an idea. Sorry I couldn't help much.

Ahh, you are forgetting an important concept. When it comes to racing, it isn't all about power. What does your suspension look like? What kind of tires are you running? What is the clutch setup in your transmission?

Your engine should make great power... which yes, is a major factor in how long it takes you to get down the strip. But traction is just as important. If you had a car making over 1000hp and ft-lb's of torque, but running 205 street tires on stock supensions with a slipping clutch... it ain't gonna be pretty, get it?

A little more info for the guys to estimate your times is in order.

If all is operating okay, and assuming you have some drag racing skills, your car should see low 12's with no problem.

It will really depend on your 60 ft times. With a 1.6-1.7 60' I would guess that you would run low to mid 12's.

You really need to get yourself some LT headers if you don't have them already. With LT headers you would probably be around 11.9 to 12.2 range.

You really won't know until you get out there and run it at the track.

My stroker runs high 11's to 12.2's. usually 12.1's and 12.2's. You need to open up the exhaust.

My cam only car goes 12.0 -12.1 in good weather (in average weather 12.2-12.3)... if you cut a 1.6 or 1.7 you should be in the 11's w/o a problem.

You'll need a 12 bolt tho to be cutting those type of 60's in a 6spd.

I think 12.0's @114-115 MPH would be a good number to shoot for.

Then work it out.

If you get a good launch you should see mid to low 12s pretty easily. Good conditions and low elevation will get you better times. Of course this is all a guestimate.

I have an almost identical setup to you. 383Stroker, ported heads, 1.6 RR, comp 305 with Hooker LTs, Spec stage 3, 6 speed with 3.42s.

I did have the Edelbrock shortys and I got rid of them. I could not believe the difference with the LTs. Unbelievable!! The shortys were restricting my motor badly. They will definitely be holding you back. That motor needs to breathe. When I put those long tubes on, it was like a different motor. The torque was incredible and at the high end, awesome.

You will have to go to the track and see but I would still guess 12.2 to 12.5 with real good 60' times.

Go to the track and let us know
