1-3-5-7 cylinders dead
1-3-5-7 cylinders dead
Dropped in my new motor and now 1-3-5-7 are dead. Headers are cold, car has not been driven.
1. I checked to make sure I am getting spark, I am
2. checked fuel pressure at rail(44 psi with key on)
3. Checked to make sure the injectors were getting power, they were
4. checked to make sure injectors were pulsing, they were
The motor was sitting for 8 years before I bought it. It has 39,000 miles on it. Before I droped it in my impala ss I put the hot cam kit on it.
I think I have it narrowed down 2 things.
1. Injectors ar plugged(hard to imagine all are plugged on just one side)
2. Or maybe I messed up on adjusting the valve lash on that side. I went 1/2 turn past lash.
I am on baby duty right now so after my wife gets home I am going to go out and pull the fuel rail up and turn the key on to see if 1-3-5-7 injectors are spitting fuel.
any other possibilities to my problem?
Thanks
Brandon

39,000 mile engine
Try taking out a spark plug out check it out, color or wetness, that will tell you if it is getting fuel or not also the condition of the plug. Repair or replace that cracked vaccum line to the regulator. Reconnect that plug wire to the plug , grounding the plug and turn over the engine very briefly to see if you are getting spark to the plugs. Valve lash is "OK" Good luck, 93Z Ted
Well I solved the problem!! I lifted the fuel rail and put little cups under the injectors and turned key to on(not running) only 2-4 squirted gas, the others were plugged. The 6-8 header pipes must have only been warm because of 2-4. I had 8 extra injectors laying around and installed them. It fired right up and I had fire to all cylinders. Now I gotta scan the car to see why I have a check gage light on and why both fans are running at start up. My oil pressure is pretty low too. If the gauge is right I am only running 20 psi(doesn't go up when revved either). It should be running 40psi. I need to get my auto meter oil pressure hooked up so I can tell for sure.
Thanks guys
