Łncoated Headers Damaging Ac Evaporator Enclosure

I just read in the august issue of car craft magazine that it is an absolute must to thermally coat your headers inside and out to prevent heat damage to the ac evaporator encloser. I been running slp uncoated headers since 99,problem free except one burnt plug wire when i first got them installed.Has anybody ever heard of or had this problem. This is the first time i ever came across this.

Just use some heat-shielding wrap to cover the area that faces the AC evaporator enclosure. Just for the record though, some local guy down here burnt the entire passenger side of his engine bay after his headers caused a fire. He was running MAC shorties, and supposedly some of the spark plug wires caught on fire. I have SLP shorties uncoated, and have pretty much everything that is exposed wrapped up. Better safe than sorry.
