The CKP and the Opti are totally unrelated. There is no electrical connection between them. They both connect directly to the PCM.

As far as the sensor goes, understanding not just what part the code is for but also how the PCM uses the signals and what has to happen or NOT happen with the signal to set a code will help. That being said, anytime you have a sensor fault, wiring to and from the sensor and/or voltages and feedback signals should be taken into account BEFORE you go replacing parts.
Most sensors will have a plus voltage, usually either 12 volts or 5 volts. They will have a reference (usually at ground) and a feedback signal. Your CKP is this way. You could ohm the wires from the PCM connector to the CKP but that still won't tell you if you have supply voltage to it. You should do the basic check for voltage and reference. The pink wire going to the sensor should have +12 volts on it when referenced to the Pink/black wire going to it.
If they look good, ohm the yellow wire from the sensor to the PCM.
BTW, I believe your confusion with the wire running to the opti is the pink/black wire which is the reference for the low and hi res. signals. This is the ground for both the opti and CKP signals which comes from the PCM. Many sensors will use a common reference or even supply voltage. The ones that use a common supply voltage can be hard to find since one sensor can ground the supply line and cause many sensors to appear "bad".
Sorry long winded.

So I reset the PCM and did a crank relearn
The SES light came back on.
Anyone have any idea as to why???
Thanks for any info.
