Well, both of my cars got the vented opti treatment. However, I can't remember who it is.....comp cams maybe, but someone has an aftermarket stronger timing set for the non-vented opti cars. Definitely a plus if you're doing a budget setup.

ps: check out the new speed density website that we just brought back to life.

I just finsihed up a cam swap and used a new stock chain. Unless you upgrade to the 95+ timing cover, there arent many options for us. I think Lunati makes one but when I was researching it, everyone was scared to try it becuase it was new so I just went with another stocker. They say its plenty strong enough unless you are using one hoss of a cam. Good luck.

For the stock replacement and the Lunati, no, but for the LT-4 and the LT-4ED, you have to change the cover. You could also go with a Cloyes dual roller but then youre gonna need an electric water pump and all of that jazz. These are all of the reasons I stuck with the stock.

you would have to change to a 95+ cover and vented opti as well,to run the cloyes

I just went with a stocker and keept my non-vented opti

I converted to the 95+ opti... TC cover wasnt very much... Converting costs about the same as buying the non-vented... Though I got my parts at cost.. I'm sure you could do the same though. I converted to a CSI pump and regret it. My car runs hot. Though I havent driven it for 3 1/2 months... I would stay with the stock WP if I were you.

What cam are you going with?
