I used a wrench, the allen wrench, and the socket didnt fit. But I have Stage 8 bolts. Not sure about the stock bolts.

You might need to grind down a thin-wall socket to fit it between the bolt head and the primary tube if space permits. If not, cut the wrench and turn it into a stubby to make room.

I used a regular deep socket on the stock manifold bolt and the same with the header. I have ARP stainless steel 3/8 hex bolts. $16 from Summit.

I have SLP's but ran into the same problem on 3 of them. I had already gotten bolts with smaller heads, but couldn't get a socket or wrench on them. I went to the local hardware store and got Allen head bolts. They were grade 5 which is plenty for headers.

ARP bolts are great. The bolts are summit p/n ARP-400-1101. Chevrolet: 262-400, 3/8 in. diameter, .75 in. under head length, hex head, stainless steel, header bolts. Theres 12-point and 1" long bolts too. The p/n above are 3/8 hex .75" which is what I used.
