***header install*** - wont start!...any ideas?-part 2
Ok my first post i didnt have the elbow/Maf/cai on or the o2's. i put the whole intake system back on and the egr. i crank it over and it starts right away. stays running for about 2-4 seconds then goes dead and back fires. I tried to start it several times and it wouldnt turn over again, untill it reset it self for about 5-10 minutes of waiting. During my header instal i took off many things. ranging from egr, alt, steering, valve covers, on the driver side i had to take the hwole head off and i took the rockers off. i replaced it all and torqued it down in the right way liek the book said. the rocker arms were torqued down to 50ft lbs....i thought that was a little high...would that keep it from starting? the only thing that isnt on the car is the o2's that connect to the end of the headers and the xpipe. i need help ive check my wires and the order. i will check them again tomorrow and prolly put my o2's in too see whats up. i didnt put them in because i didnt want to burn them out. flames out the headers....
thanks please help i would liek it very much

It has to do with the rocker arms. i don't think you torque them down you adjust them go on here for an explanation on how to do it.
www.shbox.com.
I would also clean the MAF and throttlebody while at it.

I don't believe you can just tighten all the rockers to the same specs, there is a procedure for tightening them. Also check your PCM ground wire, it's under the passenger side header and when i put on headers mine easily broke off.

My dad did them first and the car wouldn't start either after arguing with him (old people think they know everything) we did them again and it started but they were too tight (old people) then again still too tight then again. anyways I'm going to do it one more time in secret because he swears he's a master mechanic. lol
