***!!! please help

ok i have no clue what's going on. I've gone through 3 o2 sensors just on the drivers side in a matter of a 2 months. I don't know what the problem is or what to do. The wires and connector seem fine and I have no exhaust leaks. The sensors are black and sooty. This is really annoying me. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

See if you have a dead cylinder on that side. Since you have headers it is very easy to check each tube while the engine is running with an infrared thermometer. If you don't want to do it that way, you can remove one injector clip at a time to see which one doesn't effect the idle when you remove it. If it turns out you do have a dead hole, check your oil right away to see if it smells like fuel. BTW souping a cylinder can be bad for the cylinder wall and rings.

Obviously you have a spark problem if you find a dead hole. Focus on the wire and plug for that cylinder. Possibly even swap one from a good cylinder to confirm.

Re: ***!!! please help

hmm. ok. I just changed the oil last thursday and it didn't smell like gas. I'll check to see if I have a dead cylinder. I have new plugs and wires anyway and was planning on doing a tune up when I get the chance. Thanks. anything else maybe?

I had a similar problem when I was using the bosch o2 sensors. I replaced them with AC Delco's from the dealer and didn't have a bit of trouble after that.
