Re: $388.00 for cap rotor and distributor...

Hey man; Can I make a suggestion? Buy yourself a delteq system, it may be just a little more expensive, but you won't regret it. I replaced my opti from the chev dealership twice within 6 months of each other(ouch) . For some reason the optis just don't hold up as good as the original . Just a suggestion to save you some money in the long run.

Re: $388.00 for cap rotor and distributor...

I changed my opti tonight. It took me three hours with not to much of a hassle. All I had to do extra was pull the tensioner for the vortech. I cracked mine open and looked inside to find lots of rust and oil. It was terrible. I should be up and running at full speed now.

One thing to remember is you need two water pump gaskets. Around here most of the places only stock one. So I had to go to two stores.

Good luck with the install

I began to remove mine tonight....so far I removed the air pump, disconnected the opti, driained the coolant....removed the bolts from the water pump (6 of them) How do I budge this thing? Do I tap it with a rubber mallet? It seems to be on there pretty tight. New opti from Dal will be in tomorrow. I am hoping to have all assembled by wednesday night

Just rock and wiggle the water pump off the dowel pins. Some gentle persuasion with a big screwdriver might help.
