$2500 to spend?? What to do?

As you can see in my sig. that I already have full exhaust and intake. My question is what should I do for the most bang for the buck. I know nitrous will be a good start to some higher hp but how much can a stock block take if i were to get some heads and/or a cam with nitrous? I would rather spend the money the right way the first time so I dont have to double back in the future. Please list parts and prices. Thanks

Since there're so many different directions you could go with the money, I'd sit down and figure out exactly what you want to accomplish. Then get in touch with www.cmotorsports.com or the shop of your choice and get some guidance on a package that'll do what you're looking for.

Agreed. The biggest thing I had to think of before I started spending $ was what my final goal was. You can be fast on the street, or fast at the track, or both. My goal is to be competitive on the street, in case someone revs me out, to have the car feel like it's going fast, and to run mid 13's all night long at the track. (stock = 14.7 @95mph) Come up with a REALISTIC goal. To me nitrous sounded cool at first, but the refill idea, and not having the power there ALL the time swayed me away from it.

Defiently. Because like Tair said with nitrous, that the power isnt there all the time. Thats EXACTLY why i bought a forged 383 stroker. To handle n20, because frankly i dont want a power adder there 24/7 and put wear and tear on a stock bottom end (supercharger/blower, turbo)

But think about what you wanna do first.

Big qusetion to, emmisions or no?

Nice!

But then, if you're like me, $2,500 won't go very far at all. Outside of the roller rockers, I have YET to do anything major to the motor on my car and I've got over $6k into my car, most of my stuff was bought used, and NO it wasn't in stereo crap either.

I like the hot cam kit, lt4 KM, LS1 DS, DR's, tuning and shifter...

However, i'd rather also go with 4.10's and get a TA girdle w/ stud kit, LCA, Re-location brackets, PHR if lowered, SFC..

You can have all the power in the world, but if you cant hook then whats the sense?

Add a GMPP Heavy Duty Timing Chain (~$250) and you are set!

depends on what you want to do...if you just want to be fast on the street I would do:

cam kit (call Cmotorsports) - with all the installation BS your looking at about $1200 total.

heads - get Lloyd to port your heads with the rest of your money

This should make plenty of power, sound pretty nasty and get you running mid-low 12's without traction (which you will not want to try to get)

if you want to be fast at the track,

12-bolt/9 inch - $2300

you won't see any power gains, but you can throw some big slicks on the car and run high 12's at the track with your current setup.

Would I be able to install the cam kit myself to save a little cash or is it one of those things that you want to leave to a professional? Also wouldn't a good tune help pick up some extra horses?
