$115 tune up??

I found out the the dealer close to here does a tune up for 169 CAN so about 115 US. I know they do the plugs, but not sure what else they do in a tune up.
But jsut for the plugs alone I almost thought this would make it a good deal?

Is it worth it to pay for a "tune up"

my car only has ~54000 km, ~33k miles.

For 115.00 they are not doing anything more than the plugs. There is alot of labor involved when they replace the opti and wires. Dealer cost on a full tun-up, opti, wires, and plugs could cost you 800.00 or so. Might want to look into doing it yourself.

Get this; dealer flat rate for changing spark plugs on a LT1 is, 6.8 hours. That is labor alone & does not include any parts.

BS

I worked at 2 shops now and labor said 2.5 at both places in the books. there is no way GM could get away selling the f-body for that cheap and then charging THAT much labor. High end cars can get away with **** liek that, but not for f-bodies.

you be surprized, my friend had his camaro done and he had all the parts" plugs and wires" and the dealer still charged him $220 labor, and that was the low end of dealers that wanted more

As mentioned, make sure they know you have an F-Body Camaro before you go for the deal.

I'd also buy my own plugs and pre-gap them. Probably go with the Super-duper NGKs, either, plats, iradiums or the like.

Sure a shootin, when they finish the plugs for that price (minus cost of the plugs) they probably won't give that deal again. That's why you might as well go with the longer lasting plugs.JMHO
