Z06 vette mufflers on a Z?
Z06 vette mufflers on a Z?
I saw a Z06 vette at the stop light the other night
while I was pumping gas about 75 feet away from the intersection. I couldn't believe 405 HP was so quiet. I really like the stealthiness. I was wondering....... I know..... most people here don't like a quiet car.... most upgrade the exhaust to be louder...and more throaty...... but IMHO ...... it attracts the law....... and usually attempts to drownd out any normal level conversation in the car. Has anyone tied to buy some of the corvette Z06 mufflers off of a vette board or ebay and put on their car? I was wondering is this a decent idea..... or am I just crazy. I figure GM did alot of research to find a fairly quiet exhaust for their flagship without giving up too much. How could you attach the titanium mufflers to the steel exhaust pipes?
If that sounds crazy, then what aftermarket exhaust stuff is available without making alot of noise.... and still not sacrificing HP.
PS. I have a '89 S10 Blazer with a 350 that has full length headers.... no cats....and 2-1/2" 2 chamber flow masters..... that turndown before the rear end....... and it is obnoxiously loud (when I used to drive it daily) for a daily driver..... and it puts about 325 HP to the wheels....... which can't be too far off from the vettes RWHP.....

The ZO6 muffler will not fit an F-body. The SLP dual dual is probably the quietest high flow muffler available for our cars.
Sorry....I just read that you have a 350 in a Blazer....aren't you in the wrong forum?

I am just covering all my questions before I buy.
when people talk about "fit" I think all too often they get into the notion that it will simple "plug in" in place of the factory original.. I find that fit to me means more of where I can make it fit..
I would still prefer something super silent and preferably with a single out since it makes no sense to go from a single pipe into two.. Now if you have true duals, then fine but otherwise its still a single out..

I am sure you could make it work, it just would be a pain hanging it. Give it a try, you could always make ur money back on the z06 catback (many guys with non-z06 c5's want them). I understand you want to be different, I am sure the SLP dual/dual is quietest and best flowing as said above (direct replacement too)
