Z06 cam

What i want to know is how much power a Z28 w/ the normal stuff (cat back, lid, Ram Air, headers, y pipe) will make with the addition of a Z06 cam (cam only, not the heads). Summit has them for like $220 so It seems like a good idea. I live real close to Thunder Racing so I could have them dyno tune it for me so that wouldn't be a problem. Also while we're on the subject I was wondering if anyone knows if that cam will make the car "lopey" at idle, i want to avoid that to keep at least SOME sleeper aspect to the car ...

It's just a guess but I would say around 20-30 hp. If you are looking for GM parts the best place to go is www.gmpartsdirect.com. The ls6 cam from them is only 190. The part # is 12565308 if you want to look it up.

I am new to the LS1, just bought it this week. I come from the LT1 area where I played with my Z28 for 7 great years.

Over in the LT1 section when we need information/part numbers we use GMpartsdirect.com.

And when we have our information and are ready to buy, we use http://samtaylor.com/html/parts.html

Jason Cormer and his men give the best prices in the country on GMPP and their customer service is second to none.

mullettour is correct, about 30 hp max. You will also need to use the LS6 valve springs. Make sure you get an 02 or newer LS6 cam as the 01 LS6 cam is much milder.
