Z-28 info
I just purchased a 2000 Z-28 6sp yesterday from a local dealer.
I have just a couple questions, i have owned a number of camaros, but not an ls1 and its been a few years since I have had a camaro. My first question is, This car has had the converter removed , a flowmaster muffler installed, and what appears to be an exhaust cutout a little before the exhaust goes over the axle. Is there any gain to be had from this dump other than being( I imagine) really loud? Next there is a button on the dash labeled asr. Is this traction control? What axle ratio did the 6sp cars come with?
And last but not least, what kinda ets does a Z is this very mild form run?
Thanks for any help in advance

Cut out question - sorry, I have no experience there.
I would imagine that anything that decreases back pressure would have a positive affect on HP's, though.
ASR = Acceleration Slip Regulation - a fancy name for Traction Control. It works the rear brakes and limits engine power as deemed necessary by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) - you'll know when it works by the light on the dash, the reduced power, and the pedal kicking back at your foot !!
Axle ratio - as far as I know, all 6 speeds came w/ 3.42:1 gears.
I'd guess mid 13's would be a good average, but there are "freaks" & "dogs" out there, so only a track test will tell you for sure.
Watch out , though , - it's addicting !!
Have fun !

The cut out will be add some hp when it is open. Flowmaster exhaust are very contrary to their name, they dont flow for sh*t, but in my opinion they sound great! So a lot of people go with a Flowmaster and do a cut out so they can have the power gain when they want it and sound they like the rest of the time. As far as how much gain you will get with the cut out I am not sure.. some people say as little as 5-7 rwhp other have claimed closer to 20 rwhp. But if you take it to a track I would open it up..
Other than that all the info Newbie T/A gave looks correct to me.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm still going over the car. I have no way finding the previous owners, I did see today that someone had did the throttle body bypass. Little things like confuse me. Why would you do all of the small things but not eliminate the skip shift?
Thats my next project, it will be eliminated this weekend!!! I hate it!!!!!
