When you install an aftermarket y-pipe on an LS1 f-body does it get rid of most of that annoying popping when you get out of the throttle? Or do you have to get rid of the cats to eliminate that popping sound? I just purchased an SLP y-pipe and am going to have it put on in a month or so. I'm hoping this cures my problem.

 

It wont. Thats just raw fuel igniting ,when the engine is cold

 

anything u do to free up the exhaust is going to increase the amount of popping. it's ok tho, It sounds mean...
