Y-pipe or not?

I plan to get hooker headers w/Magnaflow exhaust. I still can have nice sound with some hi flow cats right I just am afraid to get busted by the cops for having a ORP.

IMO you can still have a nice sound with HF cats. I think the magnaflow with headers and cats will sound very nice. Get the cats welded in the ORY and your car should be fine for emissions, sound and smell (I hear no cats has an unpleasant oder).

So as far as sound goes it should be sweet. As far as cops looking for ORY pipes I would not worry about that unless you live in California. If you do live in the sunshine state then maybe ask some of the local f-body gurus if they have any problems.

Good Luck and enjoy the magnaflow!

I have the Hooker LT's, Custom Y-Pipe with a Flowmaster Scavenger Collector, Carsound 94109 Cats and a Magnaflow Catback. I sounds perfect and has no rasp. I had the Hooker ORP and there was rasp at 2500 rpm's. The addition of the cats also deepened the exhaust note too.
