Y pipe help
Re: Y pipe help
a 2002 y pipe will not fit. i can't remember what year they changed it i think it was 2000 but i know in the 98 and 99 the cats are equadistant from the motor and on the 02s the cats are offset. look on slp for y pipes and it will tell you what years will fit your friends car. hope this helps.
Re: Y pipe help
Actually, the cats on my '99 were offset as well. They didn't really move them between '98-'02. What changed was they added a flange behind the passenger side cat on the newer y-pipes so they could be removed easier (I guess?). Since the older models don't have that flange, you won't be able to bolt up a newer y-pipe without some "fabrication."

Re: Y pipe help
agreed, my 99 had the driver side cat bolted directly to the manifold and the passenger side farther back.
