What size of pipe should be used for an X pipe setup and configuration, and type of muffler or glasspack should i use? (if glasspacks, how long?)
And what kind of horsepower gains will I see?

Also i was wondering if you guys could send me some pics of your x pipe or true dual setup. Thanks guys

 

Well first of all LS1s do not have X pipes they have Y pipes. X pipes are generally found on modular motors such as the newer 4.6 litre mustangs. Also glasspacks are no longer used. As for as a Y pipe you need to use one that matches your headers if your using the stock headers a Mac Y pipe would work. If you decide to go with aftermarket hearders each manufacter has a y pipe that matches their headers.

 

I'm sure he knows that, he's talking about going with a true dual exhaust setup.

I'd probably go with a Dr. Gas 3" X-pipe and try to find a good exhaust shop that'll do the rest. Mufflers...personally, I'd use a couple of Dynomax bullets. I have no idea how much power you'll pick up but if I had to guess, I'd say probably around 15rwhp...maybe more, maybe less
