Angry WTF? My door panel is cracked!

I noticed this yesterday. Inside of the drivers door just underneath the window the plastic panel is starting to crack, its about a 1/2 and inch long. DAMN! pissed me off! Oh well I guess I will have to take it in and get it replaced. I think this is rather odd becuase I have only had my car a year. Im curious has anything like this happened to any of you guys?

That's what happens without protecting the plastic from the heat.

The polymers they use for interior panels have stabilizers in them to prevent cracking due to cold or impact (to an extent). Take it to the dealer. They should replace that under warranty (unless it looks like you drove a nail through it or something).

I had the panel on the passenger's side in the back repaired already because of a crack about 2 inches long --- I think it was sort of a "freak" thing, because it was right in the middle of the panel, above where it forms a bit of an armrest. I swear the crack just "appeared" one day, but most likely after I had a passenger in the back (which I've only had about 2 or 3 times since I've had the car?! ).

I'm not going to bash GM though and say "what a POS", cause it's something that could have happened to any car.

ppffttt, that sucks. take it back to the dealer and get it replaced. i would put tints in your car just incase it's the sun that's cracking your interior. it's always nice to keep your car as cool as you can inside while it's burning outside.
