You're correct. I just checked with my sources as well and have to agree with you. I swear I remember checking out a 3rd gen one time with a V6 but had Formula badging
Oh well, not like it's that hard to put the decals on the side

Both the Camaro and Firebird were sold in 1967, but the Trans Am did not become available until 1969.
There were no V6 Formula's ever made. There were V6 Trans Am GTA's however in 1989. 1555 of them to be exact.

Doing the math... the 35th Camaro was 2002, putting its first year at '67.
The Firebird didn't have a 35th, only a Collector's Edition that year. However, the 30th Anniversary was in '99, putting its first year at '69.

Chevy celebrates the anniversary of the Camaro.
Pontiac only celebrates the anniversary of the Trans Am.
So the Firebird did have a 35th anniversary but Pontiac doesn't celebrate the Firebird with anniversary models.
That's not *entirely* correct. If you read Pontiac's official literature, the CE WS6 is: A commemorative edition to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Firebird.
Basically, some marketing type said: "Hey, let's release some special edition car to make a little more money in this last model year. We'll just say it's to celebrate the 35th year of Firebird production, but only make it available on the most expensive Firebird model available from us: Trans Am WS6"

I love mine for the sleeper effect. It looks like a firebird (no rear spoiler) and it has a long lettered badge that starts with F as well. So at a glance I appear to be a 3.8 V6. But when I gun it they find out what I got under the hood real quick
And Formula's are kind of rare. I see a lot more Firebirds and Trans Ams then I do Formula's out there. Anyway I hope I didn't sound abbrasive or anything. I just hadn't heard of a V6 formula before so I checked it out.
