WS6 vs TA - differences?
I saw online that the 1994 Firebird is the 25th anniversary.
Doing the right math, that would mean that the 2004 (yep, I know, doesnt exist.) is the Firebird's 35th anniversary.
Am I correct? Or did GM skip two years just to make the 2002 the 35th anniversary?

Ok, so what are the trims for the Firebird then?
Pontiac Firebird (V6)
Pontiac Firebird Formula (V8)
Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (V8)
Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 (V8, equivalent to SS)
Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 Firehawk (WS6+a SLP package)
Am I correct?
This seems so complicated to a feeble minded Camaro (V6, Z28, SS) owner.

The Firehawk can be a Trans Am OR Formula- differences of spoilers and front fascias. Other than than, some Formula's are V6's (at least older years, not sure about newest)
The WS6 is a TA w/a body kit and suspension package. It could be ordered w/the SLP kit too, just like the SS.
Think of a the Firehawk as a tuner option that could be had on the Formula or TA.
This is more or less how I view the differences.
Formula = Z28
TA = Z28, w/an appearance package
WS6 = SS but if you ask spyke more poewr fro the ram air and a magical suspensn that maed it rid smoothr, handel beter and ezer to lanch.

The differences between a 2002 WS6 and a base T/A are:
WS6 hood
WS6 airbox (sits higher for better airflow)
32mm 1LE front sway bar (compared to 30mm for the base)
17x9 wheels (compared to 16x8)
275/40/17 tires (compared to 245/50/16)
Muffler and tailpipes (flows a little better than the base)
That is it. From '96 to very early 2000, the WS6 cars had much of the 1LE suspesion (sans shocks). From '96-'01 the WS6 had the power steering cooler, which was optional on the base car and is standard on all 2002.
All 2001-2002 V8 F-bodies have the LS6 intake.
Performance wise, they are about equal.
The first year for the Trans Am was 1969. First year for the Camaro and Firebird was 1967. Do the math on the anniversaries; GM does not skip years to make an anniversary model.

TA= appearance upgrade + V8

Doing the math... the 35th Camaro was 2002, putting its first year at '67.
The Firebird didn't have a 35th, only a Collector's Edition that year. However, the 30th Anniversary was in '99, putting its first year at '69.
