Would this be possible (A4 question)

Is it possible to have an A4 that can be manually shifted 1-3 (like having a manual valve body), but automatically shift for you if in OD??

I don't know if it is possible with a 4L60E, but you can do it with a 700-R4 (4L60). B&M, TCI and TransGo make such kits. For the track (1/4 mile), it is best (for consistency) to let the trans do the work. But I do understand the wanting, especially if you canyon carve. But I just leave it in 2nd.
