Worth it? header swap

Right now i have FLP LT's ORY and GMMG catback..... I want LOUDER! I need somethin new.....I was thinkin QTP LT's with the high velocity collectors or whatever they are.....and a true dual setup with sweet thunders dumped before the axle and prolly gettin it from texas speed. I want the QTP's cuz i want stainless and i'm gettin a lil bit of rust even though i know it doesn't do anything really.

Anybody wanna buy the FLP Longtubes with the interchangeable offroad pipes and cats and Y? I'll clean em up for ya...and And anybody want a GMMG? Shoot me an offer....and i'll think about it.

The amount of cash people dump on their exhaust is amazing.

man talk about disposable money.

i would just keep the headers, you aren't gonna gain much from the swap. then cut the mufflers off the GMMG and build a true dual setup with them.

The headers i sorta want new ones not for the hp...but for stainless and i figure if i'm gonna do the exhaust i might as well change headers same time. And since the flp's come with the offroads and cats and y...thats not gonna do me any good anymore.
Or will it still be good if i can get a x pipe fabbed up to the part of the y pipe before the actual y collector? and then i still have the interchangeablility? even though i'm prolly never gonna use the cats.....

But the idea of cuttin up the exhaust isn't too smart...because i can sell it for what? 600 maybe a lil more or less? i can buy a xpipe and sweet thunders for cheaper...what $400 maybe a lil more?

Re: Worth it? header swap

your insane... you have 1200 dollar headers and the most coveted cat-back for an f-body and you want to change it... amazing....

if you havn't already take off the cats on your car... if you have, take that grand plus that you have and fricken buy some suspension stuff, tires, or start saving up for a cam....

Re: Worth it? header swap

A cam and heads will most likely make it louder.

But the true duals will make more power than the GMMG.

Yeah....i want a cam and i know it would make it louder. I was savin up for a cam and torque converter but my money just started goin...so i dont have much saved up anymore. And i need somethin new to the car...even though its not soo new i figured if i could sell the full exhaust i have right now and buy new headers and true duals i could get a louder and better setup without spending anything more. I will get the cam one day...but not now. Or maybe even a turbo? STS?

Re: Worth it? header swap

all you do is buy 2 (or 1 depending on where you want them) and take them to your local exhaust or performance shop and have them cut your exhaust and weld the cutout in... i have one on my car and it sounds sick as *****... even with stock manifolds

you should be able to get some cutouts and them installed for ~100 bucks... how about that for saving some money!?!?!?
