Question won't start unless press clutch very hard ?

Not had too much experience in this area, but, have 2000 TA that I sometimes have to push clutch to floor very hard in order to start it ? any ideas ? ...after it's been running and warms up seems better though...

thanks,
jim

You prolly need to adjust your clutch safety switch. Its under the dash (I think I dont really know for sure, maybe someone with an m6 can verify). It just keeps you from starting the car in gear with the clutch engaged.

I've noticed my 00 M6 has to have the clutch pushed all the way in as well. Farther than necessary. If anyone can post how to adjust it, it would be helpful to me also.

I had the problem with my 96 z28 m6. It was the switch that he's talking about. Pretty cheap to replace if I remember correctly.

won't start unless clutch press down hard

It was a little switch the clutch presses against... I just took off and took apart switch... very easy to clean and used some sand paper on metal pieces... works like new now ! easy fix ...just thought I'd let everyone know...
