wires to close to headers

I just put new hooker headers on my 99 z28 ls1 and the wires are getting burned from the wires sitting on the headers..tried wraping them in heat shield tape but still burned them any suggestions on keeping them off the haders or high temp wires anything really..

LS1 wires are so short they should not be hard to keep away from the headers.

Only problem I've seen is the #6 wire arcing on SLP headers. Are you using the skinny stock wires?

MSD wires can be bent at the boot to clear the primaries. The wire heat sleeves aren't necessary, but can't hurt.

I know but my wires touched the OBX's still on the DS.

On went the shields no more problems
